形態特徵

• Perennial herbs.
• Leaves cordate, the margins entire; petiole green.
• Inflorescences at near apex of leafy plant, solitary or several in each floral sympodium, always appearing with leaves; spathe strongly constricted, ovoid to ellipsoid, persistent; spadix densely flowered, male zone longer than female zone; flowers unisexual; male flower white, 4-6-androus, stamens connate, anthers lateral; female flowers, yellowish, ovary 2-4-locular, ovules several to numerous; stigma subhemispheric or 2-4-lobed.
• Fruit not seen.

分布

• 台灣 : Widely cultivated and naturalized at low elevations throughout Taiwan, common, rhizome used as pig feed and as a vegetable.
• 世界 : Native of South America.
